Chicago Physical Theater is a group of wildly creative Physical Theater artists who create and produce original works of perfomrance art. Company members have a diverse background in physical performance, Clown, Mime, comedy, and writing. CPT and it's ensemble offer classes and workshops in Clown, Mime, and Live Action Cartooning. Ensemble & Faculty

Dean Evans

Dean Evans is a professional Actor, Mime Artist, and Clown. He has studied Mime and Physical Theater at The School for Mime Theater, The Ohio State University, and with masters Marcel Marceau, Stephen Niedzialkowsky, and Avner Eisenberg. He is an ensemble member of the Neo-Futurists and has performed with Kapoot Clown Theater, Redmoon, Chicago Children's Theater, Second City, The Goodman and as a solo artist. He performs a one man Clown and Mime show called The Magical Exploding Boy. Visit Dean's personal website.

Jay Torrence

Jay Torrence is an ensemble member and Artistic Director of The Neo-Futurist Theater Company in Chicago. He has been writing, directing and performing regularly in "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" and other full length original scripts since 2002. Jay recently played the lead role of Quasimodo in Redmoon's production of "Hunchback" at The New Victory Theater on Broadway in New York. Torrence wrote and co-directed "Roustabout: The Great Circus Train Wreck" (awards include: "2007 After Dark Award for Outstanding New Work" and "2007 After Dark Award for Outstanding Production"). Other writing and performing credits include: "Picked Up", "Windmilled" and "Daredevils (Theater on the Lake Production 2006). Recently, Jay was listed in Newcity's Top 50 Influential people on stage in Chicago. Teaching credits include The Neo-Futurist Short Short Story Writing Workshop.

Molly Plunk - Chicago Physical Theater

Molly Plunk is a profesional performance artist and entertainer in Chicago. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2007 with a concentration in acting. She has studied Mime at the The School for Mime Theater and Aerial Arts at the Aloft school in Chicago. Molly has performed with many local theater companies including the Gift, Redmoon, Collaboraction, and Silent Theater Company and has appeared in the work of award winning film maker Usama Alshaibi.

Anthony Courser - Chicago Physical Theater

Anthony Courser graduated from the Dell’ Arte School in Blue Lake, California and studied clown under Sue Morrison at the Institute of Canadian Clown in Toronto. He has performed with the Dell’ Arte Players, touring California and Venezuela , and in Chicago is a founding member of the clown company Asylum 137. He has also created pieces of clown theatre and commedia and performed with Flying Griffin Circus, Sprung, Chemically Imbalanced Comedy, Redmoon, and the Neo-Futurists. He teaches clown and circus arts. Anthony is also a member of Barrel of Monkeys, an educational outreach and performance company that works with Chicago public elementary schools.
